Licensed Professional Counselor

Is your child struggling in school with learning challenges?

Are learning issues causing behavior problems?

I work with children and adolescents who have ADHD, learning disabilities, and medical issues that impact their performance and behavior in school. Because learning challenges can lead to behavior problems, then to emotional issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, and decreased self-esteem, my treatment approach focuses on the connections between academic, behavior, and emotional issues.

Combining 10 years experience as a registered nurse, 15 years as a teacher of ADHD and LD students, and 17 years as the mother of a son with ADHD, I strive, as a counselor, to help my clients and their parents find practical solutions for school and home.

I also help children with:

  • Life Transitions
  • Trauma
  • Child Crisis Management
  • Child Grief
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Anger

Are you an adult with ADHD? Are you forgetful, often late, or frequently fail to finish a task?

Whether you are newly diagnosed or continuing to struggle with the daily challenges of ADHD, you may be experiencing difficulties in your personal and professional relationships.

Adult ADHD frequently affects work performance and can frustrate your friends and family. However, are you also creative, inventive, and able to think outside the box? I can help you master tools for organization, memory, and prioritization so you can learn to control the negative aspects of ADHD and maximize the positive.

Are you dealing with chronic illness or overwhelmed as a caregiver?

As an RN in outpatient and inpatient oncology, I was privileged to help with palliative and end-of-life care. In addition, I experienced life-threatening illness with my husband as he battled leukemia. As a counselor, I can use my professional knowledge and personal experience to help children, adults, and their families deal with the many challenges of serious illness.

I also help adults with:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Trauma Recovery

I earned a Master’s Degree in Education from The Citadel, a BSN-RN from the Medical University of South Carolina, and my Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I am ready to help you leave old struggles behind and find happiness again.

In addition to clients who are private-pay, I am in-network with the following insurances:

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (all plans)

PREVIOUS CLIENTS’ FEEDBACK

With their permission, here are some experiences of former clients…

I was unexpectedly apprehensive about my first counseling session. Lyn was warm and inviting and helped me understand what the counseling process would be like.

Mrs. Manzi has done wonders with my daughters. They’ve had a rough year, slowly made better by her helpful insights and just by helping them learn to talk about their issues. They didn’t want to come to counseling at first and now they can’t wait to go every week.

Lyn was patient and inspired trust & comfort with my teen.
