Lindsay Buvel, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Have you tried countless efforts to control your eating, only to find yourself back at the same place wondering why the scale never changes? Do you experience intense guilt and shame, feeling too embarrassed to tell anyone?

Binge Eating Disorder is the most common eating disorder, impacting people of all ages, sizes, and genders. This is not a lack of motivation problem, rather it is a function of genetics, biological responses, dietary habits, and reinforced behaviors that require a multi-disciplinary approach to treat. I help you work through negative self-esteem and create healthy boundaries with food.

Is daily anxiety or depression leaving you exhausted and feeling that life is just too much?

Mood and anxiety disorders are very common, and the struggle is unique to each individual. Together we will work through challenges, and I will help you learn coping skills to conquer future struggles.

Do you struggle with obsessive thoughts or actions?  Do you wish you could do little things like wash your hands, cross the street, or have dinner with friends without having to go through an entire routine?

OCD and Phobias are treatable, and you can experience a meaningful life with minimal to no distress post-treatment.

My mantra is to “figure out what you care about and then care about it” and I believe there are endless opportunities for growth within painful experiences and want to help you live a life you value. I approach therapy with a sense-of-humor and directness that allows clients the space to grow in a meaningful and intentional way.

I also frequently work with children and adult clients in the following areas:

  • ADHD
  • Adjustment Disorders
  • OCD/Phobias
  • Personality Disorders
  • School Refusal/Behavioral Issues
  • Suicidal Ideations
  • Treatment Resistant

In addition to clients who are private pay, I am in-network with the following insurance companies:

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield (all plans)
  • Tricare
