Do you or your child struggle to effectively communicate thoughts and feelings?

In today’s digital world, we often feel that images like GIFs and emojis are more effective in expressing our feelings than words. We use this same idea in art therapy to help pinpoint difficult emotions and express them in a way where others can more easily understand what we are feeling.

One picture is truly worth a thousand words.

Do you find yourself frustrated and confused about what you really want and need in life?

When finding answers to life’s difficult questions does not come easily, I believe it is helpful to explore ideas in a safe environment to obtain clarity and learn how to communicate your needs.

Do you feel depressed or anxious most of the time? Do you have a learning or physical difficulty that is impacting daily life?

Creating art in and of itself can be therapeutic and relaxing. As a Board Certified Art Therapist, I help you explore various art media and techniques and will help you develop a relationship with your artmaking that brings meaning and personal insight. As a Registered Yoga Teacher, I am also trained in stress reduction, meditation and guiding yoga asanas (postures) that are highly beneficial coping strategies for stress.

In my experience, art therapy is a highly effective tool for sorting through chaos. My approach is simple in that I ensure that all of my clients feel completely safe and supported. Once we have established a trusting, honest relationship and have a goal in mind, we work together to let the art do the talking. This process can be very easy for some and very difficult for others but no matter what comes up, you will have a compassionate and fierce ally to help you through.
